About Wanderstories

Safe space to share

Wanderstories offers a respectful and open environment where vulnerability is welcome. There is room for doubt, half-formed ideas and honest conversations without judgment.

peer to peer feedback

From basic vocabulary and grammar to advanced conversation skills, my curriculum covers all aspects of the Japanese language.

Short & Impactful

We keep it brief so it stays meaningful. Each participant gets 10 focused minutes to present and receive feedback, enough time to go deep rather than wide.

By makers for makers

Founded by photographer Remco de Vries, Wanderstories grew out of the post-graduation void. It is now a growing community that values dialogue and shared growth over hierarchy.

How it works

Always Free

  • Feedback sessions will always be free to join

Bring your work

  • You bring a project or idea you are working on, either printed or shown on a laptop.

Join a small group

  • Each session has around 20 participants, divided into smaller groups to keep things personal and focused.

Pitch your project

  • Each maker has 10 minutes total. Use the first minute or two to briefly introduce your project or question. Keep it short and clear so most of the time can be used for feedback.

Get feedback from peers

  • The remaining time is for open conversation. Other makers respond from their own perspective, sharing thoughts, questions and suggestions that can help move your project forward.

Wanderstories was incredibly enriching. It’s rare to find a space where you can openly discuss your work with photographers from such different backgrounds and career stages. Hearing their perspectives challenged my thinking in the best way and helped me see my project with fresh eyes. I left feeling both supported and creatively recharged.
